Wax Melts vs. Wax Sachets vs. Candles: How to Use Each One

Not every fragrance moment calls for a flame. Pink Blossom makes three different ways to scent a space — candles, wax melts, and wax sachets — and each one works a little differently. Here's how to use each one well.

Wax Melts: Fragrance Without a Flame

A wax melt is a small piece of scented wax, warmed in an oil burner or electric wax warmer until it softens and releases fragrance — no wick, no open flame. They're a good fit for bedrooms, kids' rooms, offices, or anywhere you want scent without burning anything. One melt typically lasts several hours of warming, and you can let it cool and reheat it again until the scent fades, then simply swap in a fresh one.

Wax Sachets: Fragrance That Needs No Heat at All

A wax sachet is a solid, decorative piece of scented wax you place directly in a drawer, wardrobe, car, or shelf — no warmer, no electricity, no flame. It scents the space around it slowly and passively over weeks. This makes sachets the easiest of the three to use anywhere, including spaces like closets or gifting boxes where a candle or warmer isn't practical.

Candles: Fragrance and Ambience Together

A candle is the only one of the three that gives you both scent and light. It's the right choice when you want to set a mood — a dinner table, a bath, a festive room — not just fill a space with fragrance in the background. See our Candle Care Guide for how to get the longest, cleanest burn from every candle.

Which One Should You Choose?

As a rough guide: reach for a candle when you want ambience and are in the room to enjoy it; a wax melt when you want a stronger, sustained scent in a space for a few hours without an open flame; and a wax sachet when you want quiet, constant fragrance somewhere a flame or warmer can't go, like a wardrobe, drawer, or gift box.
